Best Time to Cross
Avoid Friday evenings (SG to JB) and Sunday evenings (JB to SG). Weekday mid-mornings are usually smooth.
Elakkan Jumaat petang (SG ke JB) dan Ahad petang (JB ke SG).
Documents Ready
Have your passport (or MyKad for Malaysians) ready before reaching the checkpoint. Keep bags easy to open for inspection.
Payment Methods
SG buses take EZ-Link, contactless cards and mobile wallets (SimplyGo), or cash on board. Causeway Link cross-border buses are tap-in only and don't accept cash; they take Manjalink, EZ-Link and credit/debit cards. JB buses (BAS.MY) take cash, cards, DuitNow QR and Manjalink.
Bas JB (BAS.MY) menerima tunai, kad, DuitNow QR dan Manjalink.
Walking Across
Only the Causeway allows walking. Use the covered pedestrian walkway between Woodlands and Sultan Iskandar CIQ. Takes about 20-30 minutes.
Hanya Causeway boleh berjalan kaki. Gunakan laluan pejalan kaki bertutup. Ambil masa 20-30 minit.
Currency Exchange
Exchange money at JB Sentral or CIQ money changers for better rates. Avoid exchanging at the checkpoint itself.
Stay Connected
Consider a dual-SIM setup or eSIM for data on both sides. SG roaming in JB can be expensive.
